Gilhooly Consulting Limited helps nonprofits become successful. Our goal is to help nonprofits move from a cause to a business. All nonprofits are about a cause, but without basic business principles and leadership, the organization will not survive.

Kevin Gilhooly, the founder, has over fifteen years of nonprofit experience as a volunteer, founder, and executive. He also has almost forty years of experience on the for-profit side in IT, as a single contributor as well as in leadership positions.

Kevin earned his Master of Science in Nonprofit Management in 2019 from Our Lady of the Lake University. Our board checkup education program is a revision of his capstone project from his degree program.

Kevin has been mentoring small businesses and nonprofits since 2018. He is a Certified Life Coach and a member of the Grant Professionals Association.

Kevin and his wife, Virginia founded Sparky's Pals in 2006 in memory of Sparky, their adopted dog who passed too soon due to neglect by an earlier owner. Sparky's Pals teaches people about pet ownership and responsibilities. Sparky's Pals grew out of their realization that too many people brought pets into their homes without realizing the potential costs and the responsibilities of having an animal in the household that is completely dependent on their new owners.

Kevin served on the Board of Directors of Agape Broadcasting Foundation for nine years, eight as President. Agape operates KNON 89.3 FM, a community radio station in the Dallas Metroplex. During his tenure, policies and procedures were updated to make the station run more as a business than a cause - which is the main theme of his consultancy.

Kevin also served on the Board of Directors of the Richardson Humane Society, a local foster-based pet rescue from 2005 until 2017, and served on the Advisory Board for the East Lake Pet Orphanage from 2005 until 2009.
